Scotch-Brite Bristle Disc BD-ZB is a disc that uses ceramic abrasive grains and shaped, flexible brushes. Provides more surface contact than steel brushes and retains its abrasive properties throughout the life of the disc. This fast-spinning disc removes paint, stains, adhesives, welding scorch marks, rust, heavy oxides and surface contamination from large surfaces.
Scotch Brite Bristle discs are designed to last longer than other abrasive discs. Our brush discs work well on aluminium, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel and other metals. In normal use, the flexible bristles stay firmly in place and the desired finish can be achieved with light pressure. These discs contain no wire fibres, providing extra safety. These discs contain 3M ceramic grinding minerals based on aluminium oxide, a powerful ceramic material made with a special process to increase grain toughness and durability to improve performance. Alumina-based ceramic grinding minerals are designed to break down regularly. As a result, they offer a higher cutting speed and longer life than alumina-based abrasives. Ceramic abrasive is well suited for moderate to heavy material removal and for sanding and finishing. It is designed for fast grinding and for applications with intense heat and high stresses. Scotch-Brite abrasives are unique products for surface finishing where the abrasive is contained in a non-woven fibre matrix. The combination of abrasive with non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the life of the product. The material with an open web structure remains cool during use and is full-bodied. As a result, the fibres are less likely to clog and the abrasive minerals remain high performing.
